- 20% of the population in the world are Hypermobile.
- Compared to boys, Girls are more Hypermobile. Hypermobility tends to run in families, but its exact cause is unknown.
- Genes that are involved in the production of collagen, a protein important for joint, tendon and ligament function, are believed to play a role.
- Being double jointed has often increased the risk of asthma, Cardiovascular problems and bowel irritability.
- Soon after, Researchers concluded that Hypermobility was linked to mental conditions as well.
- Hypermobile people would be more prone to anxiety and increased flight or flight response.
