Why is curing Cancer so difficult ?

Cancer is a disease in which abnormal cell division takes place. Cancer is very difficult to cure . Why you ask?Because Cancer is not like any other microbe. There are ways of killing Cancer like Chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and Radiation.

But they are never successful. These techniques can kill the cell but even if there is a single Cancer stem cell that is left over, It results into a completely new Cancer. Adding to that, Cancer usually has sub clones. If it is the brain, there'll be about 6 sub clones. And one cure that will work for a sub clone will not work for another.

Some Cancers have learnt to mutate and adapt themselves to defend them from Radiation. There are about 100 Cancers discovered so far.. and we do not have the magic bullet for them all. And how long do we have until these super bugs take over ? Not much, but there's good news. Scientists have worked day and night to be one step ahead of the microbes.

Prevention is better than cure !!
